NBA Takes Europe By Storm
The NBA has aligned with more than two dozen marketing and promotional partners to support NBA Europe Live 2008 presented by EA Sports, a four-game tour of Europe this month.

The Wizards were hoping to get back to being the running and gunning team of two years ago going into the 2008-09 season, but that all went up in smoke when three-time All-Star Gilbert Arenas underwent knee surgery for the third time since April 2007.
Arenas is expected to miss the first month of the season because of an arthroscopic procedure on his left knee, and in an Eastern Conference that has become increasingly more competitive over the last two seasons, the Wizards‘ four-year streak of playoff appearances could be in jeopardy.

Wizards’ Camp to Close With Many Roles Open
RICHMOND, Oct. 2 — The Washington Wizards will close training camp on the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University on Friday evening with an intrasquad scrimmage, and players expect it to be every bit as intense as practices have been all week.
‘It’s going to be very competitive,’ veteran forward Darius Songaila said. ‘It’s been that way all week with guys really playing hard and going at it. It’s a chance to see where everyone is at. We’ve got some guys trying to make the team but not only that, we’ve got a lot of guys really competing for playing time and roles, so it’s going to be fun.’
